I am using the 'Banner and Contents" frame page and want the buttons in the
banner portion to change the pages in both the contents frame and the main
frame. Is there a way to alter the code relating to the hyperlink for that
button to do this ?

Simple. Copy your current frameset to another name and set it to load
the wanted frames then change the link to this new frameset.
Better still. Don't use frames.
