Hi Moli,
Consult your motherboard manual, or the computer's tech support number
if applicable to find out how to disable your onboard (built-in) "PC modem".
That should at least clear up the "unplugged cable" issue you're having, and
may also change the priority of your main connection and as a result, correct
the connection you've reported as well. :-)

| I upgraded to windows X.P from M.E and since then can no longer host online CM 03/04 games to the clan I have. I can join games
hosted by other people through an ip address they send me but they cannot join my games after I send them an ip address.
|
| They recieve an " unable to connect to server " message, " make sure a network cable is not unplugged " etc.
|
| I use AOL broadband and an exterior bt voyager modem rather than the built in PC modem, on my network connectios options it shows
no lan connection ( cable unplugged ) and I wondered if this was the problem and if there is a way of adjusting these settings or
some other way to be able to host these online games.
| It has always been possible with windows 95, 98, M.E to host off my pc online, just not this pc with X.P and X.P is the only
differance.

| anyone help ?
