All Windows Mobile 2003 devices inc Second Edition (Pocket PC and
Smartphone) have the .NETCF runtime in ROM. For all previous Pocket PCs you
can install the runtime into RAM.

When installed there will be a registry key at
HKey_Local_Machine\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETCompactFramework
Within this will be a Dword value which indicates what version is installed,
e.g. for Service Pack 2
value name 1.0.3111.0 value 1

You can also look for the file cgacutil.exe in the windows folder, running
this with no arguments will display the installed version.

Check the following tutorial:

http://www.wfu.edu/~rbhm/dotnetinstalls.pdf

It will help you create a setup for your application that will also
install the correct CF, if necessary...

If you also need to install OpenNETCF, check one of my previous posts in
this group, on how to add it to the setup.
