How do most CF and EWF users go about partitioning the CF. Or maybe I
should ask my
question in a different way. I want to have a part of my CF not use EWF.
Do you have
to partition a CF to not allow the EWF to control only part of it?

To be able to partition CF, you must mark it as nonremovable with tool
provided by CF manufacturer.
Then you can partition is as you would HDD.

Later you can configure EWF to protect only selected partition(s). So you
can have unprotected partition for configuration files or other use.

Slobodan

You can only get this from Sandisk.
The gentleman you need to talk to is Tuan Dinh Hoang, (E-Mail Removed)

I'm trying to do the same thing.
I have a non-removable CF card.
I have been able to get the EWF working fine when I have 1 partition.
I'm having a little of a struggle with 2 partitions.
I will FBA fine and the EWF is disabled.
Ater I enable the EWF on C, I can't disable it.
I"m using
ewfmgr c: -commitanddisable
I noticed EWF on D was enabled, and so I disabled it.
Still messing with it.

I'd appreciate any help

RAM EWF without EWF control partition, can protect only one partition
selected from registry.
It does not protects partition C: or D: it protects partition by ARC path.

You can find this in registry and change it.

Read my instructions on www.xpefiles.com carefully for what to change.

Slobodan

My problem was that I had a 2nd HD that I use to alternate boot my system
still plugged in.
With my configuration, I HAVE to have that HD (which is on the primary
Master) disconnected when I boot to the CF card and run FBA
I have the 2nd partion on the CF card now formated with NTFS and it is
working with the EWF (so far)
