We use L2TP and AD-CA (Windows 2000) for logon into our network.

Resently i had to renew the computer certificate on a Windows XP Notebook.

I Use the MMC snapin and i get the following message:

The certificate request failed because one of the following conditions:
- The certificate request was submitted to a Certification Authority (CA)
that is not started. (OR)
- You do not have the permissions to request certificates from the available
CAs.

This is fact:
- I am logged on as Domain Administrator.
- I can Ping the CA-Server ( DNS- and network connection works properly)
- The request on a different computer works fine ( the CA-Server is OK)
- I tried to remove and rejoin the Computer to the Domain

what can i do else.

Lothar
