I have 2 customers that cannot get my device's USB root-enumerated driver to
install. Both systems report the same problem in SetupApi.log:
-------------------------------------------------
[2007/06/11 11:16:41 3512.228]
#-198 Command line processed: "C:\Program Files\Panini\MyVisionX\USB
Driver\wdreg.exe" -inf "C:\Program Files\Panini\MyVisionX\USB
Driver\WinDrvr6.inf" -silent install
#-148 Loading coinstaller modules for "System devices".
#W239 The driver signing class list "C:\WINDOWS\INF\certclas.inf" was
missing or invalid. Error 1168: Element not found. Assuming all device
classes are subject to driver signing policy.
#E358 An unsigned or incorrectly signed file
"C:\WINDOWS\system32\SysSetup.Dll" for driver "System devices" blocked
(server install). Error 0x800b0100: No signature was present in the subject.
#E161 Processing of call to class installer failed. Error 0x800b0100: No
signature was present in the subject.
------------------------------------------------------
I searched on the web for an explanation of what might cause failed access
to Certclas.inf, and found at least 8 instances of this issue. But I found
no explanation for why this file cannot be accessed.

Does anyone know why Certclas.inf can't be accessed on some systems? Is
this due to a virus or some security setting?
