Certain files on FTP site not visible to me, visible to others.

Trying to download a bios update from HP.com. I can list the relevant
folder using FTP, but the file I want doesn't appear in the (long) listing
of similar files. HP support (helpful) swear it's there, and a colleague in
Ireland downloaded it without problems. It seems that it's just me! I've
disabled all firewalls - no change.

What could explain this oddity?
