This was my original post:

"""I have a distribution list set up and I want to send
everyone the email. I do not want every person's email
address to display, I only want their name. Is there a
way to turn off sending everyone's email address in a sent
message?

The CEO is asking this question."""

and I got a work around for it, but I still am not
convinced it's the final answer.

Many times when I open my email and there are multiple
address I see (using just examples) Bob B((E-Mail Removed));
Cindy Lou((E-Mail Removed)); George Bush; Cat
((E-Mail Removed))

Where did just the name come from and how do I mimic that?

Thanks,
Pam

As far as I know, this is how Outlook works when interacting with the
adress list. I can't find any options to change this behavior. If there
is a switch, it must be in some obvious place since I've looked in all
nooks and crannies and can't find it.

Tell the CEO that there are other ways to send email to people, not
involving Outlook, if she/he wants to do it in a way to avoid having
their email address showing. These ways are not necessarily expensive
and can be easily done with someone who has the knowledge and skills.

That being said, I think that most people won't really mind seeing their
email address in the "to" field since most people are relistic enough to
know that this is how email works.

Speak the language understood by the CEO. Find out the cost for the
alternative ways, and weigh that up against the expected benefits and
compute the Return on Investment.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Pam -
Your CEO can place any email address they wish in the TO:
line and the distribution list on the BCC line. This way,
no one will see who recieved the email. THe only address
they will see if the one placed in the "TO:" line.

Hope this helps!
