This is as per an old post here
http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...a-386878b0f6ad

Basically, every cell the user edits acquires a temporary border (v.similar
to tracked changes, but track changes is switched off).

User is running XL2000 via terminal server. This behaviour seems to be per
user (as opposed to per worksheet or server).

Any info would be gratefully received.

Hi p45cal,

Thanks for replying.

Re zoom etc - haven't tried that. NB in behaving like track changes - the
new 'border' remains visible during current session. Then on save and reopen
the 'border' no longer appears around previous edits, but now only appears
around any subsequent new edits. And only for this user...

Unfortunately, I don't think it is a screen refresh issue, but to be sure
I'll have to check this.

Not necessarily. It can happen in new and old xls files.

I'm intrigued now because I thought the user had merely switched into some
obscure edit mode or similar. From the response so far (ie not much), it
would seem it's not as simple as that.

Cheers,

Andy
