I just took out a motherboard + cpu to sell someone. But now I don't
know if it's a Cleron 3ghz or a Celeron D 3ghz?

Is it even possible for a Celeron to go up to 3ghz or is that D
territory? It's socket 478 if that helps....

Celerons go to 2.8GHz/FSB400, in socket S478
http://processorfinder.intel.com/List.aspx?ProcFam=49

Celeron D goes to 3.6GHz/FSB533, socket S478 and LGA775
http://processorfinder.intel.com/List.aspx?ProcFam=1756

Checking the SSPEC printed on the top of the processor,
might help identify it. Codes are of the form "SLxxx".

this is excellent info thanks. I don't want to take the heatsink off
of the proc, but the links you provided solve my problem, thanks
again.
