Trying to upgrade new software and min. requirements say "1.5 GHz
Intel Pentium or equivalent".

I have a Celeron 1.7GHz. Does this meet the criteria?

If not, could you please tell me what IS an equivalent to a 1.5GHz
Intel Pentium?

THANK YOU!

That install should be OK.
The Celeron is a simplified version of the P4 ..there is no direct way to
relate
the speed of one to the other ..
I would say the machine would 'feel' the same with a Celeron 30% speed
higher than a P4 .
I depends on what program you running.

I thought the only difference between a Celeron and the P4 variant is the
amount of L2 cache? Amount of L2 cache doesn't make much dif in some
apps/games anyway.

You dumb ****. I said *some* games and apps and that statement is true. I
bet your one of those dweebs that actually falls for AMD's numbering scheme
when one cpu has 512k L2 cache more than the other. Dumb ****. I had the
very first celeron with no L2 cache and overclcocked the sucker to max. I
was stomping people with cpu's that had an L2 cache. If the L2 cache is
that important in games then explain why my framerate was so much higher.
You dumb ****.
