My DVD/CDRW combo drive is unable to burn or be detected by Media Player or
Sonic as a burner. Windows CD recording will not accept blank CD-R & proceed
to burn.

Problem first began with OS not detecting the drive. So I went ahead and
deleted the upper & lower filters.

Now it's able to detect the drive. I'm able to play DVD's & CD's and rip
music but can't burn at all.

I also changed the value in the registry from 3 to 2.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CD
Burning\Drives\volume"xxxxxxxxx"

I've uninstalled the Sonic burning software and reinstalled and it still
wont detect it.

I appreciate any help or input on this.

Thanks

The only way I'm able to burn anything with the drive is using CDBurnerXP
