I replaced an old, barely working HP 7200 i CDRW with a
newer one, branded by Norcent.

The CDRW will read only original Cds, not burned ones.

I have recabled it, placed it as a master on IDE 2,
Promise 1 and Promise 2 IDE channels. I have made it a
slave to a suddenly defunct 56X CDROM.

Because there is only one lazer to this thing, I suspect
that there are XP drivers missing. This thing is driving
me nuts. Please keep me out of the loony bin due to deep
frustration.

Thanks
