Our IOmega Zip CDRW drive is not compatible with Windows
XP. We have just tried to add it to our computer. We
have tried patches from both IOmega and Microsoft to make
it XP compatible--still not working. Any ideas?

know. I have had the same problem. Since I upgraded to
xp. What I did was to partition my hard drive so I could
keep it running with the old O/S. It still works now on
the old version of 98. I just have to switch back and
forth to burn music.

Buy a new one. Look in sales add from the local computer retailers and wait
until you can pickup from 9.99 dollars to 20 dollars. They are getting dirt
cheap. Also, remember that you should convert all cd writable to recordable
because the new cdrom drive will probably not have the software to read them
and your old software will not be able be used with new drive. Sometimes
you can read them with the new drive so you can copy them but do not depend
on it.

If I got the wrong size tire for my bicycle, I guess I would go out and
purchase one that fit the rim! Why don't you do the same?

Is it a CD-RW or a ZIP drive?

This is a wonderful time for you to upgrade your hardware, and so inexpensive.

What the hell are you talking about--"...convert all CD
writable to recordable..."? Writeable and recordable mean
the same thing. Are you talking about packet-written CDs?
If so, why not say so, instead of posting gibberish that
no one can understand?
