CDRW No Longer Recordable

Yet another CDRW Post. :-(

I have a Samsung SW-248F CDRW drive which has been
working fine under Windows XP Pro. Today when I booted
my machine it is no longer seen as recordable (i.e. the
Recording tab is missing from the properties).

I have reviewed Q324129 and Q316529.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\
Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CD Burning\Drives

shows the drive type as 2 (CDRW) with the correct
speed.

I have tried uninstalling the drive and reinstalling it.
Same thing. It is on the HCL list so there are no
drivers from Samsung. I have tried upgrading the
firmware to the latest rev with no effect.

Anyone have any ideas how I can get my drive back?

Christopher
