I've been through 3 cd-rw drives. I might use them maybe 4-5 times and then I can't record. By drive #3, an ASUS 5224, I realized that its something to do with the computer and not the cd burner. My first thought was that there was some problem with my motherboard, but I had already had it checked 2 times and told it was in perfect functioning order

Then a friend told me over the weekend that both of his computers developed the same problem. The cd drive reads but will not burn. I tried 4 programs, Windows Media, Nero, Real Audio and copy cd from command from My computer. Nothing worked

To further confuse matters, I now have a DVD drive that read audio but does not display video. Obviously, this is not just me that is having this problem. My friend is in Canada. He builds computers for a living and feels sure that there is some major conflict going on in Windows XP Pro

Save my sanity and tell me how I can fix this mess.
