I'm running windows xp professional. A week ago my CDRW
drive stopped recognizing that a CDRW has info on it. It
thinks the disk is blank. The only way to look at the info
on the disk is to go into "my computer", right click on
the cdrw drive, click on "properties", go to "hardware",
double click on the CDRW hardware, go to "volumes", and
click on "populate". Then I have to go back to "my
computer" double click on the CDRW drive and the info that
is on the CDRW will appear and run if I click on it so I
know the hardware is working. This ia also the only way I
can use the DVD drive. I can't use system restore because
for some reason it only lets me go back two days and I
need to go back at least a week. I checked my system for
viruses with Mcaffee and foun nothing. I deleted and
reloaded the drivers for both drives. Ive restrted my
computer several times. I know its a setting in windows
and can't figure out what is corrupted? HELP!?!? (Thanks
in advanced)
