Does anyone know whether this equipment will work properly on Pentium III
running on WindowsXP Professional? I want to change my current CD-ROM to
this one.

On the same question, would DVD-RW also work on P III machine? Or should I
just stick with basic CDRW/DVD combi drive?

The specification does not say anything about systems requirements.

Thank you.

The store tells you that it is a Sony drive. They even tell you the Sony
model number. Suggest you go to the Sony site and find out.

There are no specific requirements for optical drives. To sum it up:

1) It will read anything it is capable of reading, on any system;

2) It may or may not be compatible with Windows XP built-in recording
support (which most people don't use).

3) It will be compatible with a number of third party recording applications
(and probably bundle one of those). Each of those will have its own minimum
requirements, but they are likely to be rather low.
