Hello, I am running XP Pro, and in "my computer" my cdrw is labeled as a
cdrom. Although in the device manager my CDRW is correctly detected as an
ATAPI CDRW, it's not labeled appropriately on "my computer". Can anyone tell
me how to get the CDRW labeled correctly because I obviously can't just
rename it. I also have a cd-rom and a dvdrw in the system and they both are
labeled correctly.

This seems to be a "system" thing. It appears that when
you have a CD in the drive, the label changes to CD-ROM.
If you take the cd out and then look in My Computer, the
label correctly shows a CD-RW drive. Why? - I dont know.

If the drive writes cds properly, then why worry?
