I do not know how to solve it either.
Each Customized folder is probably not empty. Each Customized folder
probably contains a Hidden, System file called desktop.ini. Some
desktop.ini files can be Read-only, but if you change the folder icon using
Folder Properties | Customize tab | Change Icon button, the Read-only
attribute is removed from that folder's desktop.ini file.
Among other things, the desktop.ini files contain information on what icon
to display.
You should've got a message similar to this:
Are you sure you want to move the system file 'Desktop.ini'?
When trying to copy those customized folders to CD.
As long as these are folders that you have created and not system folders,
you can try deleting the desktop.ini files from the Customized folders that
are giving you problems and see if that helps. You will lose the folder
customizations.
To display Hidden files and folders...
Start | Settings | Control Panel | Folder Options | View tab
Check:
Display the contents of system folders
and
Show hidden files and folders
UNCheck:
Hide extensions for known file types
and
Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
Click Apply | Click OK
When you uncheck: Hide protected operating system files,
you will get this message...
Warning

You have chosen to display protected operating system files (files labeled
System and Hidden) in Windows Explorer.These files are required to start and
run Windows. Deleting or editing them can make your computer inoperable.Are
you sure you want to display these files?
----------
Click YES.
[[Hidden files and folders will appear dimmed to indicate they are not
typical items.]]
When you try delete a desktop.ini file in one of your customized folders,
you will get a message similar to:
The file 'Desktop.ini' is a system file.
If you remove it, your computer or one of your programs may no
longer work correctly. Are you sure you want to move it to the
Recycle bin?
Click Yes.
