At boot-up, lights on the internal drives come on, bios
recognizes both drives, Windows Explorer does not see
either drive, ROXIO cannot see them and inserting audio or
application CDs does nothing.

Nothing added to the system, hardware or software, only
Norton A/V update and scan over the weekend. No server
changes, this is a stand-alone PC.

Win2000
Zip Drive (found and usable)
HD (found and usable)
3.5" drive (found and usable)
CDRW (not there)
DVD (not there)

Any ideas? I'm stumped.

Have you installed the necessary CDRW and DVD device drivers written
specifically for W2k? Drivers for other systems will not work.
