CDROMS?.....I dunno how to explain it...please read

this isn't really a problem with the hardware as
such...but i've recently been screwing around with
registry cleaner programs (namely Registry Healer and
RegCleaner) and (I think) it has caused my cd-roms to
stop being refreshed by windows (winxp pro sp1) The thing
is I can still view the cd data by right clicking
and "explore", but i can't double-click the icon without
it trying to run the previous cd that was in the drive.

For example, I put a music cd in the drive and a) it
doesn't autorun b) it retains the symbol of the previous
cd that was in the drive as if it expects that cd is
still present. I've checked my registry and the autorun
features are enabled. So I'm stumped?
