I am currently on Win XP Pro and lately the DVD CDROM
although is seen by the system does not read cd's. It
keeps saying, "Insert disk" This is happening to two
different PC's. Both PC's are updates.

I can't made the sony cd rom usable.When I insert the
disc,it call me to insert the media as there already cd
or disc in it.
Later on, I refer to my friend ,he said that I could
unplug the IDE wire ,restart windows shut down then plug
it in agian. It works .But after some times I inserted a
faulty CD media ,the problems arise again,and this time I
couln't solve it by repeating what I'm doing before.

There were no error mistakes on driver support as before

same thing on an xp pro box via the dcd and cd-rw drives...try rebooting with a known good disk in the drive. I have not seen an ms fix for this problem yet
