CDrom drives

I have 4 cdrom drives shared on a Windows 2000 server.
When we try to access them from a workstation, after the
drive have been idle, the workstation times out looking
for the info from the cdrom. We can re-access the cd and
the information is then available. I assume that this is
because the cd's need to spin up to speed before they can
be read. Is there a way to chage the timeout on the
workstations (Windows 98) or the idle time on the server.
