This is a licensing program that some software uses. Don't delete it.

It's a lot more than a licensing program, it's considered spyware most
places. It's also very hard to get rid of, even after uninstalling the app
it came with, such as TurboTax. One of the claims by the sellers of Cdilla
(Macromedia) is that, among other things, it can "Require users to activate
or register their software, and gather valuable data on your customer base."

There is a Cdilla removal program on the TurboTax site.

Now. Makes one wonder why they had to install separate software, without an
uninstall program, that requires yet another download to uninstall it. Not
for your benefit, I can assure you.

There is a small utility which can protect the EMBR area against
unwanted modification. EMBRLock

At least they have acknowledged their error and the new version will not
have any activation features, can be used on multiple computers and the
current versions activation feature is not being enforced. From the FAQ
section on their website.

By the way, the cdilla uninstall is buried deeply in the TurboTax site - not
easy to find at all.

Here's the URL:

The original question was whether Cdilla was spyware or not. It's seems to
be a matter of opinion, but it sure smells like spyware to me.
