Hi Everyone ,

I am having a problem in that i can't read or write to the cd drive on my xp
computer. When I look in my computer the drive shows up , but when i put
either a full or empty disk in the drive I get the little spinning disks and
then nothing else. When I check properties it show the disk , but with both
used and free space both reading o bytes.

I would be very grateful for any help , as i have some pics I wich to put on
disk and send to a family member abroad.

This is most commonly caused by a failed optical drive. Swap it out for a
known-working one to test. If that solves the issue, discard the original
drive.
