Are you trying to copy more data to a CD than it can hold? A typical CD-R
can only hold 700MB of data so ensure you are copying a total that is below
that amount.
Can you burn other data to a CD? Try burning a few small files and if your
burner is working.
Does another brand of blank CD-R media work? Some CD-R media is crap and
occasionally CD Burners do not like one bran or another so try a different
brand of disc.
Are you multi-tasking while trying to write? Don't run anything else while
writing.
Instead of using Windows built in CD Writing software try a third party
program. There are free programs that work very well. It sounds like you are
having problems with your system so instead of trying to install a program
like Nero try using this little stand alone program
http://www.silentnight2004.com/Micro20.exe Just download it and run it. You
can try burning a few files and see if this works. If it doesn't work then
your problem might be related to your CD Burner itself.
