hi i have a liteon ltc 48161h cd writer, it has stopped working for some
reason, the cd's whirl inside the tray but when i go to the devices manager
there is a yellow ! next to the name, i've tried all the fixes via hp help
and support and nothing works, the error message says it's a code39 error,
although when i reinstall it says the software is the best available. Any
ideas on how to fix this?

Replace the drive with a known-working one. If that solves the problem,
discard the original drive.
