I have a dell dimension with an hp cd writer model cd-writer +9700k with
operating system windows xp pro version 5.1.2600 service pack 1. Since I
installed this operating system, I cannot get the cd-writer to function
correctly - I believe it stems from the directCD application which is
screwing up my ability to write from my hp-director picture discs and other
writing applications that used to work with my old operating system. I am
sure I need to update the drivers, but am having problems getting to a site
that will provide me with the information and the guidance. When I boot up
there is an error message about a driver is installed that causes instability
and will be disabled. It references direct CD3 Roxio, but after a
frustrating search of that website, I am still at a loss to solve the problem
myself.

Can anyone help me with this???
