HI,
Well You can try to reseat the data cables of your cd rom
Before you do that go with basic troubleshooting steps,Like
Tried to boot the computer with the operating system cd.
And if it comes up with the setup screen,good
There is no problem with the cdrom.
In the above scenarion You can modigy the registry to fix this problem
Try deleting the upper and lower filtery keys in the reistry editor window
Start->Run->Regedit->Ok
Registry editor will open
Locate the Upper Filters value under the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-
BFC1-08002BE10318}
On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.
Locate the Lower Filters value under the same key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-
BFC1-08002BE10318}
On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.
After You delete the above mentioned keys
you have to reinstall the cd burning softwares in the computer.
