CD RW From Windows 98

Just purchased new pc with XP. Copied over 3,000 mp3s to
CD-RW's. The new pc does not recognize the CD as being
in the slot (tried both CD/writer and DVD). It will
recognize and play CDs that have been purchased. Really
need help. P. S. Really want to use RW's because I can
see the names, whereas names do not transfer on R's.

suggestions to read all of the CDs.
