Is anyone out there successfully using a CD-RW drive in a USB2 caddy. I
bought a caddy from ebay (brand new) and it worked perfectly with hard
disks, but when I try CD-ROM I get loads of CRC errors when reading and
random write errors when burning disks.

Should I have gone for the firewire equilivilent? Has anyone had any
success?

TIA for any comments.

Usually the majority of the problems are with the drivers. Have you
contacted the caddy manafacturer (web site) to see if the caddy can be used
with CD-RW drives?

The caddy is some generic make, cant find anything about it on the internet.
