For some odd reason the recording tab is missing on my CD-RW drive. I can't
click the "Write these files to CD", and all I get is a ping when I do. I
can't even click the delete temporary files when I drag and drop files to the
drive, and also get a ping. So how do I get it back? I can't open the writing
wizard to record files, but I can still use the drive to burn whatever with
other software.

This site, http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/t1115238163, the
person has practically the same problem I have.

I know it must be a registry problem that's causing this, but don't know
what key. Someone help to gain back the recording capability of my drive?

Go to admin tools>services and check if "IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service"
is set to automatic and is started.

I said that it's the registry problem. I already tried it.
