I have have recently removed a third party burning program and ran into some troubles relating to the same. I have edited the registry as per MS KB Article 314060 and MS KB 316529 the registry entry regarding restoring the recording tab for the CDRW Drive.
When I go to burn data or audio I get a message box pop up and it says" Drive is being used by another application".
I have burned one disc before the removal of the burning program. Now all i get is this message.
I am using XP Pro with the SP1 update, Nero 6 Ultra. WindowsMedia Player doesnt see the CDRW to burn audio. Any help before I reformat and start again would be greatly appreciated.

Are you trying to burn with Windows media player or NERO, in my experience
you cannot do both,to enable windows media recording you need to right click
the drive and select properties/recording tab and tick the box "enable
recording on this drive" if wanting to use Nero UN tick this box!

FWIW on my systems I have the "enable recording on this drive" box
ticked and I'm able to burn happily with Nero. I've not tried recording
using Windows Media Player though, maybe that wouldn't work for me.

Yes all the check boxes in the properties have been enabled. I have even loaded the latest ASAPI drivers as well. I think I'm at a dead end here. I will reinstall nero and I am only trying to burn with one program at a time.
