CD-RW not accessible

Last night I was running the Microsoft Office Update
utility from the web...installing a couple of security
updates for Office 2000. During the setup, Windows
prompted me to insert my Office CD, which I did. However,
the disk was not recognizable by windows in my CD-RW
drive. In fact, I found out that XP wouldn't recognize
any discs inserted in this drive. After a reboot,
everything seemed okay. Any thoughts on what would cause
this?

Similar problem here, but no solution even after rebooting! :-( Mine is a
CD/RW DVD combo on a Compaq Presario 2100 notebook)
