"Compaq Presario 7596 desktop PC cd rw drivers"

"I purchased Windows XP and did a full installation. It
removed the CD-RW drives that format CDs. If I try to use
QuickRestore (a program supplied by compaq), it does not
allow me to select just the CD-RW formatting program
(JustBurn), it will attempt to reformat the hard drive.
Do you have software I can down load that would allow me
to format CDs for audio and data?

You dont need to format a cd,its not in the technology
cds were created for.If you want to copy music to a cd
in xp,use windows media player,use the,"copy to cd" util-
ity in sub-menu.For all other,simply L.click the file,
then in sub-menu choose,"copy to cd",or R.click,then
choose the drive for the cdrw.For backup,anything over
the floppy max.mb size,choose a cd.To use a floppy in
dos,R.click the drive,format,create MS-DOS start-up
disk.
