CD-RW/DVD Problem Please help

I resently am unable to use my CD drives. I have
replaced my IDE cable And also switched IDE ports. Same
problem on bolth. But if i leave my Media in the drive it
will work until it is ejected I have scaned for virus and
repaird OS no help also when I put in a CD it changes from
DVD to CD-ROM or CD-RW to CD-ROM???????????

Sam, rt click MyComputer>Select Properties>Hardware>Device Manager. Select
DVD/CDRom Drives and Uninstall both. Let WinXP reinstall them on next boot.
