CD RW does not work

Out of the blues one day the CD RW did not work. Under
device manager appeared the following error message:
"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its
configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete
or damaged. (Code 19)" I uninstall and reinstall and still
have the message.
Anyone have any clue?
