We have been having some issues with both our dvd player and cd-rw on the
computer. I believe that the drivers may have been corrupted but I am not
sure. They will not read a disk most of the time and most of the time will
not eject (especially if a disk is in the drive) It seems that at random
times it will actually read the disk but mostly it doesn't . Sometimes I tell
the computer to eject the disk and then it shows up. Sometimes it will read
it one moment then the next it acts like nothing is in there when nothing has
been done to the disk inside (nothing has been touched) . So please tell me
what you think may be the problem and how to go about fixing it. I hope that
I explained it well enough....it is kind of a strange problem and differs
from moment to moment. I will be more than happy to provide any futher info.
Also, if it is a corruped driver please tell me where I can find
them...(specific drivers if possible)...here is the list the computer gives
for both players....
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\cdrbsdrv.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\cdrom.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\imapi.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\PxHelp20.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\redbook.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32storprop.dll
the dvd is listed as ...IDE DVD-ROM 16x
the cd-rw is listed as RW-241040
One example is that tonight I was loading Microsoft Works and Money it
loaded it fine then I realised I put it in the wrong place so I uninstalled
and tried to reinstall but then it showed nothing in the player at all...and
yes it was still in there...lol
Please help and thanks
