CD ROMS won't read

I have a CD-RW and a DVD-RW. Neither will read any data or music discs. Click on drives and they state that there is no disk in drive, when there is. Also my laptop has a CD_DVD rom, and it has the same problem. I have installed service pack one and critical updates, Need Held
