help please. Last week my PC re booted itself and since then when I put a
CD in either of my drives I get the error: x:\ not accessible Incorrect
funtion. It is ok sometimes if I boot with a CD in the player but stops if
I open/shut the door. I have XP Pro and do NOT use Roxio that is known to
cause this. I have scanned for a virus but all is OK.
It is not hardware as they work OK if I boot I to another partion.

Any thoughts welcome.
Dave.

Thanks for this but I have scoured the net or help already. I have never
used Roxio with XP - I use good old Nero.
Dave.

Wich version of Nero have you installed?

Did you try disable WindowsXP recording functions in cd-rom properties
(right-click on cd-rom icon in MyComputer > Recording)?

Do you have any packet writing software installed such as InCD?

Hope this helps...
