I had to format my hard drive and reload WinXp home edition. Befroe doing so
i copied all the files i wanted to keep to CDR disk. After loading WinXp i
can not read the CDR disk. The drive tells me to put in a disk. I know the
info is on them. The drive does see and read other disks like Sony,
Office...

Did you use a packet writing (drag and drop---Direct DC)
method to copy the files? You need a UDF reader to read
such files. Best to make backup data copies using a
standard disk data copying program and finalize the disk.
Reinstall your CD-RW drive and its software and you should
be able to read the data.

I think i told it to compress the files. I told it to make a data disk. I
can extract the file but it is a "iso" file. Dont know how to open that type
of file. The program i used was Click And Burn.....

You'll need to install the same (or a compatible) program.
An ISO disk means it was an ISO 9660 which is standard
format. You should be able to "extract" the file with Click
and Burn.

Do a Google for "extract ISO" and use the quotes.
