CD-ROM won't open some DVD's

's Computer Specifications

I have received a few DVD's that I requested but my CD-ROM won't open them.
I'm running Windows XP. Please advise. Thanks Jim

You cannot play or read DVDs in a CD Rom device, you must have a DVD Rom or
DVD Burner.

's Computer Specifications

You appear to have a CD burner. You need either a DVD ROM (player) or DVD
Burner to access anything on a DVD disk.
