Hi
I have a user who's notebook has a CD rom that is disabled in Device
Manager, Swapped Cd into another notebook and it worked fine. Put a known
good CDrom into notebook and shows disabled. Tried to enable but was not
ebla to do this.
Deleted CD rebooted still the same, Same in Safe Mode, Put BIOS to latest
version same red X in Device manager. CD has lasest firmware.
Trying top avoid a repair install of XP OS, any suggestions on how to
resolve this. How do I reinstall the windows generic CD drivers as I am
unable to read on the windows CD. sfc /scannow has been considered but
cannot get the cd working to do this
