My CD-ROM does not get detected. The light blinks on the front and it opens
and closes, but does not show on My computer. Please help.

Try the following registry fix
go to START - Run and type in
regedit

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]
"UpperFilters"=
"LowerFilters"=

Deleting the values for the upper and lower filters

Be sure to backup up that section of the registry first

Try going to 'start', *right* click on 'my computer', then 'properties',
then into your 'device manager', and uninstall your cd rom. Then re-start
your computer...windows should find it and provide the correct drivers.
