My CD-ROM is no longer listed, even though I do not have
any error message on Device Manager. The Device Manager
actually indicate "The divice is working properly".

Any tips.

Deleting the filters actually resoved the problem, but are
these entries not to be recreated automatically once
rebooted?

I don't know, I didn't bother to investigate beyond restoring the system
to working condition.

The funny thing is that I did not install any CD burner
software. The only recent software that was installed
was Veritas NetBackup, which is used to backup the Server
to a "Tape-ROBOT".

Humm, does Veritas NetBackup and "Tape-Robot" indicate the possibility
of using CD-R's or CD-RW's for backup targets? That may be how they got
there.
