ok so today I reinstalled XP pro on my system and have updated it sp3 but
have notice that my sony dvd/cd rw is not been seeing properly thru explorer,
if there's a cd installed, it won't autoplay and when you try to start it
thru windows explorer, first it doesn't display the proper icon of the cd,
basically it's a general icon and no information towards the disc, no title
and if you try to double click the drive, it comes back stating " only part
of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed" What is
this and how can i resolve this issue. I've tried both ways DMA and POI and
the issue persist.

XP does not recognize a DVD-RW disc
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/818733/en-us

Also:
Right click on the My Computer Icon on your desktop and select Manage and
select: Device Manager
(Or: Go to Start, then select 'Run' and in the Open field enter: devmgmt.msc
then click on the OK button)

After the Device Manager window opens, click the "+" to expand the
DVD/CD-Rom drives option.
Next, right-click on the DVD Drive you are having problems with and select
Uninstall.
You will be prompted to reboot your computer,
Reboot and Windows XP will re-install the DVD Drive.
