If you were able to follow the directions at the MS site,
then these ought to be within your ability.
To totally get rid of Adaptec/Roxio, delete all the
following files, if found.
Old Adaptec files:
Cdr4vsd.sys
Cdrpwd.sys
Prtseqrd.sys
Newer Adaptec/Roxio files:
Cdr4_2k.sys (Cdr4_xp.sys)
Cdralw2k.sys (same for XP)
Cdudf.sys (Cdudf_xp.sys)
Dvd_2k.sys (same for XP)
Mmc_2k.sys
Pwd_2k.sys
UdfReadr.sys (Udfreadr_xp.sys)
cdral.dll
CDDBControlRoxio.dll
CDDBUIRoxio.dll
If you can't delete them, then go into the registry and
stop these services, if found:
Cdfs
Cdr4_2k
Cdr4_xp
Cdralw2k
Cdudf_xp
Cdrom
Dvd_2k
Pwd_2k
UdfReadr
Udfs
Power down all the way and do a "cold" boot. They drive
ought to come back. You should then be able to put your
CDRW back in and reinstall Roxio.
