On my home PC, I have a Win98 Win2K Pro and Win2K Server
partition.
Everything worked OK initially, but then both of the CD
drives in the Win2K Pro partition stopped working. When
you select them the system responds with "incorrect
function" The CD-ROM drives work OK in 98 & Server.

I then re-built the Professional partition (complete
format)and the CD drives were OK again. this lasted until
I turned the PC off, and the next day the fault was back.
Restarting the system had no effect as I did this several
times while re-installing applications.

The CD drives are drive letters I & J, I have no idea if
this is related, but on the 2 working partitions they are
D&E and E&F

I have tried updating service packs etc all with no effect.

Help!!
