I have a Teac cd-540E cd-rom drive. It had a firmware version 1.0a when I
bought it. After I updated the firmware with version 3.0a, which I obtained
from the official Teac site, the drive tray ejects after a very long delay
(15sec) when the eject command is called by the OS or another software, but
not by the eject/close button
of the drive. Is it possible to fix that by updating the firmware again? Can
that damage the drive ?

Thanks in advance.

Valentin

You are asking a very technical (device related) question here, instead of
going to the manufacturer of the hardware because.....?

It won't damage the drive (if you do it correctly), but only Teac can tell
you if it will solve your problem!
